aston martin vanquish

The Aston Martin Vanquish was a grand tourer, designed by Ian Callum and manufactured by Aston Martin. The Vanquish was unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show and was produced from June 2001 to September 2004 with the later Vanquish S being produced from September 2004 to July 2007. Its rise to recognition by the wider public came after being featured as the official James Bond car in the film Die Another Day. The Vanquish was succeeded by the DBS.

The Aston Martin Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum and bore a large resemblance to the production DB7 Vantage. However, the car had a strong influence from the 'Project Vantage' prototype concept car which debuted with a V12 engine at the North American International Auto Show in January 1998. As underneath the car featured a strong aluminium/carbon composite construction, bonded chassis with a 6.0 L V12 with 450 bhp (336 kW; 456 PS).
To keep alive the flagship Vanquish name with the introduction of the popular DB9, Aston Martin upgraded the Vanquish to 514 bhp (383 kW; 521 PS), uprated the suspension and improved the cars aerodynamic efficiency. The Vanquish production ended on 19 July 2007, coinciding with the shutting of the company's Newport Pagnell factory after forty nine years of operation.

The Vanquish is powered by a 6.0 L (5935 cc, 5.9L Actual) 48-valve 60° V12 engine, which produces 456 PS (335 kW; 450 bhp) and 540 N·m (400 ft·lbf) of torque. It is controlled by a drive-by-wire throttle and a 6 speed Electrohydraulic manual transmission. The Vanquish S upped the power to 521 PS (383 kW; 514 bhp) and 576 N·m (425 ft·lbf).
The standard Vanquish model had 355 mm (14 in) drilled and ventilated disc brakes with 4-pot calipers, ABS, with electronic brake distribution, while the Vanquish S featured larger 378 mm (14.9 in) front discs with 6-pot calipers and 330 mm (13.0 in) rear discs.

audi rs

Audi S and RS models are a range of high performance cars of certain model ranges from the German automotive company AUDI AG. These cars are original equipment manufacturer (OEM) factory "upgraded" versions of specific cars, from within Audi's standard range of vehicles, primarily focusing in enhanced "sport" performance. Production of Audi "S" cars began in 1990 with the S2 Coupé, whilst the first "RS" car appeared four years later in 1994 with the Audi RS2 Avant.

Numerous "S" models, from most of Audi's mainstream model ranges have been produced over the years. These cars are recognisable by their "S*" badges, and vertical emphasis lines on their front grilles.
All Audi "S" models are equipped with Audi's 'trademark' quattro four-wheel drive system as standard. Unique internal combustion engines, along with larger, more powerful brakes, stiffer suspension systems, additional exterior body styling, and carbon fibre interior trims set them apart from their related "siblings" of their respective model range.

Like their related 'mainstream' brethren, all Audi "S" cars are still assembled by AUDI AG, and they are manufactured at their relevant factories on the same production lines alongside their other standard or 'lesser' models.
Audi "S" models should not be confused with the Audi "S line" models, which feature leather trim, S-line badging, sports steering wheel and sports suspension.

dodge journey

Unveiled first at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, and later appearing at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Journey identified internally as the JC49, has an almost identical wheelbase 113.8 in (2,891 mm) as the outgoing Chrysler Pacifica, and shares a modified platform with the Dodge Avenger. Featuring 5 or (5+2) passenger seating with four forward-hinged doors, and as with past models of the Chrysler minivans, the Journey is available with a four-cylinder engine. The Journey's exterior was styled by Chrysler's Ryan Nagode. Production versions of 2009 model year vehicles went on sale in March 2008 in North America, and mid-2008 elsewhere.

A version for the Chinese market was unveiled at Auto China in 2008, marketed as the JCUV. Initial model production began in 2009.
With model year 2010, the model name emblem moved to the right-end of the trunklid, replaced by the brand emblem.

Revisions for the 2011 model year include modifications to the grille, lower front fascia, interior, and use of Dodge's new logo, launched in 2010.
Chrysler forecasts that it will stop marketing the Journey in Europe as a Dodge model after the 2011 model year, instead marketing the vehicle as Fiat Freemont (a Ulysse replacement). The Freemont will still be made in Mexico. The new Fiat Freemont will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2011.

saab

Saab AB is a Swedish aerospace and defence company, founded in 1937. From 1947 to 1990 it was the parent company of automobile manufacturer Saab Automobile, and between 1968 and 1995 the company was in a merger with commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania, known as Saab-Scania.

"Svenska Aeroplan AB (aktiebolag)" (Swedish for "Swedish Aeroplane Company Limited") (SAAB) was founded in 1937 in Trollhättan, with the merger of SAAB and Linköping based ASJA the headquarters moved to Linköping. The style "Saab" replaced "SAAB" around 1950.
Originally manufacturing aeroplanes, the company sought ways in which to diversify its business and in the late 1940s began manufacturing cars. The Saab Automobile division was based in Trollhättan. The first car was the Saab 92001, launched on 10 June 1947. The company soon developed a reputation for safe and reliable cars, with a notable competition history.

In the late 1950s Saab ventured into the computer market with Datasaab. The company was a result partly of the need to make a computer that would be small enough to mount in an aeroplane as navigational equipment. During the 1960s several computers were developed and sold to European countries, for uses such as banking. The aircraft computer (CK 37) was used in 1971 in the Viggen. The company was sold in 1975 to Sperry UNIVAC, while Saab retained its flight computer development.
In 1968 Saab AB merged with the Swedish lorry, bus and heavy-duty diesel engine manufacturer Scania-Vabis, and became Saab-Scania AB. The merger meant that Saab no longer had to import the British Triumph Slant-4 engine, and could instead use the engine production facilities of Scania. In 1972 they started manufacturing the Saab B engine, and in 1977 Saab took advantage of Scania's experience with turbochargers and added one to the engine, thus creating one of the earliest turbocharged "family cars" with the Saab 99 Turbo, which has been listed by Popular Mechanics as the second best turbocharged car ever made.

kia optima

The Kia Optima is a mid-size four-door sedan manufactured by Kia Motors since 2000 and marketed globally through various nameplates. First generation cars were mostly marketed as the Optima, although the Kia Magentis name was used in Europe and Canada when sales began there in 2002. For the second generation models, Kia used the Kia Lotze & Kia K5 name for the South Korean market, and the Magentis name globally, except in the United States and Malaysia where the Optima name was retained. The Optima name is now going to be used for all markets except China, where they will use the South Korean market name.

From 2000-2005 Optimas were a rebadged variant of the Hyundai Sonata, differing only from the Sonata in minor exterior styling details and equipment content.
In 2010, Subaru started a viral marketing campaign using a 2001-2002 Kia Optima dressed up as the "2011 Mediocrity", in order to "promote" a generic mid-size car with nothing special about it. It is being used in comparison to Subaru's real mid-size offering, the Subaru Legacy. All of the Kia badges were removed from the "2011 Mediocrity".

The 2002 Optima received a minor update. The Optima Regal was a luxurious version of Kia Optima sold in South Korea. American models did not wear the Kia logo on the grille, but the Kia logo was used in the grille for Canada. The grille was redesigned for the United States in 2003 (2004 model year) to feature the Kia badge, and the headlamps were restyled for 2004 (2005 model year).
The second generation Optima, known as the Kia Magentis globally except the United States and Malaysia, and as the Kia Lotze in South Korea, was launched in South Korea in November 2005. This generation differed further from the Hyundai Sonata donor vehicle than the previous model. Unlike the previous Optima though, this vehicle uses a global platform, unique to Kia, designated "MG". The car continues to be built in South Korea and shares its 2.4 litre inline-four engine, five-speed Sportmatic automatic or five-speed manual transmission with the Sonata.
